Woodhurst Lane – Oxted

When these lovely clients bought their house to renovate they had a gut feeling that the garden could also be something special, and we absolutely agreed! South facing, private, with expansive views of the serene green landscape beyond – think lazy, sunny days and calm, tranquil vibes.

However – the rear garden falls away from the house and there is a huge level change of nearly 5 metres in total. We needed to create a large, level lawn within this but we all agreed we absolutely wanted to avoid excessive terracing. Not only is it expensive to build, we didn’t want the garden to feel over-engineered.

The illustrative perspectives we created helped to bring the vision to life and eventually we began the build in summer 2025. 

Clever planting design for the bank protects the drop and incorporates swathes of low maintenance evergreens and grasses, with plenty of colour. We can’t wait to see this garden evolve.
